Apply Now to Serve on the District Student Council
Applications are now open for District Student Council Chair for Portland Community College. Students looking for an opportunity to develop and demonstrate exceptional leadership skills are encouraged to apply by April 8th.
The mission of the District Student Council is to unify the Associated Students of Portland Community College at each of the four campuses; Sylvania, Cascade, Rock Creek, and the Southeast Campus. This mission is accomplished by:
- providing student leaders with opportunities to develop their leadership skills;
- fostering an inclusive atmosphere of communication amongst campuses through district events;
- promoting the welfare of the student body through representation on college committees;
- advocating for student rights and concerns at the local, state, and federal level.
The District Student Council is responsible for representing the students of PCC as part of a team of twelve student leaders, with three representatives from each of the four campuses. Respecting the individuality of each campus, these student leaders convene to decide on matters that ultimately affect the PCC student body as a whole.
The District Chair is a paid position, as are the other positions on the District Student Council. Look for opportunities and instructions to apply on the PCC website – but act quickly, the deadline is quickly approaching!
