College Administration speaks on the Bathroom Camera Case.
You may have heard on local media this weekend about an incident that occurred on our campus in regard to former geography faculty member, Matthew Constantino, who was recently arrested.
Early Fall Quarter, PCC’s Public Safety department received a report about a suspected camera recording device in a bathroom at the Rock Creek campus.
PCC’s Public Safety officers immediately contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO). A deputy was sent to inspect and retrieve the device. The college moved swiftly to place Mr. Constantino on paid administrative leave and has cooperated fully with WCSO, which is pursuing a criminal investigation. We have worked closely with WCSO throughout and also conducted our own Title IX investigation.
The college’s Title IX coordinators were notified, as required by policy, and all parties involved were provided information and access to PCC support services and resources. Due to the nature of this situation — and because law enforcement has led an external investigation — we are not at liberty to disclose details. We have, however, partnered closely with our Public Safety department, Office of Equity and Inclusion/Title IX team, Human Resources department, and WCSO throughout, to ensure a safe environment for our students, staff and faculty and to offer appropriate resources. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 503-846-2500.
To that end, one such resource for employees is the Employee Assistance Program, a confidential, no-cost service through Reliant Behavioral Health. These resources can be very useful if you need personal support. Contact RBH at 1-866-750-1327 or visit the Reliant Behavioral Health website. Access Code: OEBB
Students, meanwhile, are welcome to reach out to Rock Creek counselors for support. The RC Counseling Center offers free, confidential, short- term (1-8 sessions) counseling services to currently-enrolled students and is located in Bldg. 9, Room 117E, Phone: 971-722-7300.
