The Bridge Wins Prize for Whiteness History Month Coverage

By Bridge Staff|May 1, 2017News, Special Coverage: "Whiteness" History Month|

Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association logoThe Bridge won Third Place for “Best Series” at the Collegiate Day meeting of the Oregon Newspaper Publishers Association conference on Friday April 28. The award recognized the paper’s coverage (through over twenty different articles) of Whiteness History Month, a series of programs that brought PCC national attention.

Many people contributed opinion pieces on the events, but the Bridge staff that oversaw the reporting was headed by Managing Editor John Ostgarden, with help from campus editors Sebastian Kirchoff and Abby Mann.

Correction: The print edition mistakenly took the announcement of “winner” as first place, rather than “winner” as in the less traditional “second prize in a beauty contest.” We apologize for the error.
