This photo from 1982 was captioned:  “CANDY LADY” – That’s the nickname of Pam Giovanini, who says she “stumbled into” her home sweets-making business after she and a friend took a course at Portland Community College to learn cake decorating.”

As faculty advisor, I see my primary role as helping the editorial staff navigate PCCs policies and procedures. Although I am not a journalist, I do have some chops and experience as a writer, with a dozen or so articles and a book and a half (one was co­written) to my credit. I can also give some continuity as we move from year to year, with the staff changeover that is sure to accompany that.
